INVISALIGN

BENEFITS OF INVISALIGN

Clear aligners like Invisalign are used to correct:

  • Crooked teeth
  • Crowding of teeth
  • Malocclusion (bite is off)
  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Gaps between teeth

Clear aligners can help prevent problems that often arise including periodontal disease, tooth decay, broken teeth, and side effects like headache from a misaligned bite. Invisalign treatment can often be completed in less time than treatment with traditional metal braces. The clear aligners can be easily removed so that you can eat and brush your teeth normally.

TREATMENT WITH INVISALIGN

Before treatment, Dr. Nelson or Dr. Ford will discuss your oral health and treatment goals with you to determine if Invisalign is right for you. Using the iTero scanner and a series of photos, we can provide a simulation instantly to show you what your bite could look like after treatment. If we decide that Invisalign is the right choice to reach our goals, we proceed with a comprehensive treatment plan to get you started and into your aligners as soon as possible.  You will wear the aligner for 22 hours a day then switch to a slightly different aligner every 1-2 weeks as teeth shift. Treatment is highly customized as each aligner is mapped out in your individual treatment plan to conform to shifting teeth. Clear aligners should only be removed for eating and teeth cleaning in order for them to work quickly and effectively to move your teeth.

IS TREATMENT WITH INVISALIGN PAINFUL?

You may feel some mild pressure or discomfort as you adjust to each new aligner, but this fades as your teeth adjust. Most people describe this as pressure or soreness, not pain.

HOW LONG DOES INVISALIGN TAKE?

The length of treatment depends on the patient’s condition and desired results. Most patients will complete treatment in 6 to 12 months. Select cases may be complete in less than 6 months, these are patients who simply need minor tooth movement or treatment for orthodontic relapse. Patients who need more significant tooth movement may take 9 months or more.

HOW MUCH DOES INVISALIGN COST?

The cost of Invisalign treatment depends on the number of aligners needed to reposition the teeth into the desired outcome. We will review an estimate at your initial visit and provide exact treatment costs after we collect records of your teeth with the scanner and know the level of complexity. We have financing options available!
